In an effort to support individuals wanting to join the industry CPOW offers two scholarships that are awarded annually to students (both undergraduate and graduate level) who are actively engaged in working towards a career in the onsite wastewater industry. About the Warren Brown Educational Scholarship
CPOW’s scholarships are offered in honor of Warren Brown. Mr. Brown was an avid CPOW member, serving as CPOW President and in the Education Committee for many years. He was committed to education and regularly taught the Soils, Design, O&M, and inspector classes for CPOW. Warren served as a Public Health Engineer with the Tri-County Health Department from 1990 through August of 2015. In that capacity, he oversaw the Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) program. Warren assisted in the revision of OWTS regulations and served on various state committees on OWTS in Colorado. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver. He was a registered as a Professional Engineer in Colorado since 1982.

The NOWRA Scholarship for Emerging Professionals supports the professional development of young and early career professionals in the onsite wastewater industry.
