SUMMARY:NAWT OWTS Recertification Class
DESCRIPTION:THIS CLASS IS BEING HELD ONLINE \nAt the conclusion of this course\, participants will have reviewed the Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS) from several viewpoints. Participants will recognize the importance of having an understanding of OWTS and apply this knowledge to communications with the different parties involved in the lifecycle of an OWTS.  They will be able to describe what wastewater is and how it is treated using these systems.  Participants will be able to identify the different types of systems available\, from the very basic/conventional system up to and through advanced treatment types and proprietary units and the soil treatment areas used in wastewater treatment.  The participants will analyze the best practices each sector of the industry applies and determine how they function together throughout the lifecycle of an OWTS.  They will be able to examine their situation and design a business plan to ensure that the costs associated with their activities are covered and their business will thrive. \nNAWT Renewal Course\nAGENDA\n06/30/21 \nIntroductions – 8:00 – 8:10 – 10 min\nShort History in Human Sanitation – 8:10 – 9:10 – 60 min\nIndustry Basics – The Business of OWTS – 9:10 – 10:40 – 90 min\nBreak – 10:40 – 11:00 – 20 min\nIntro to Wastewater – What is it? – 11:00 – 12:30 – 90 min\nLunch – 12:30 – 1:00 – 30 min\nHow Wastewater Flows Through the System – 1:00 – 2:00 – 60 min\nWhy Advanced Treatment? – 2:00 – 3:00 – 60 min\nBreak – 3:00 – 3:15 – 15 min\nBasic Installation Principles – 3:15 – 4:30 – 90 min \nFacilitator:\nKim Seipp\, High Plains Sanitation Service\, NAWT Educational Coordinator \nThis renewal course is worth 8 CEU Hours\, and can be used to recertify any NAWT certificate.
