SUMMARY:San Luis Valley Area Training Courses
DESCRIPTION:May 10th: An OWTS 101 course that will address basic understanding of what OWTS is\, how it works\, and why it is important to manage and maintain these systems. There will also be a section on how to complete a new install inspection. This course would be very beneficial for those individuals that work at the county offices that are in charge of managing the OWTS programs. This class will also give your staff the knowledge and tools to be able to help county residents with their questions regarding their own onsite systems. \nMay 11th: A one-day refresher course for visual and tactile skills taught in the CO Site and Soils Evaluation Course that was held in the San Luis Valley area in May of 2015. This one-day focused course will cover only the visual and tactile processes that help determine the types of soils the onsite system will be installed in. The first part of the day will be a brief overview of the tools that are used for this process and the remainder of the day will be a hands on practice session of utilizing the skills taught for the visual and tactile processes. There will also be a field trip to complete the day with actual pit exercises of utilizing the visual and tactile processes. PLEASE NOTE – THIS CLASS DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE “COMPETENT TECHNICIAN” RATING AS DEFINED BY CDPHE OWTS REGULATION 43. \nThere is capacity for 40 people in these classes. \nCost Of Class: \nOWTS 101 – $50 \nCO Site and Soils Refresher – $75 \nBoth Courses – $100 ($25 savings) \nREGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS NOW CLOSED. \nIf you still wish to attend the course\, please email Lisa Nicoll at cpow@nullcpow.net with your information.
