Membership Appreciation Day FREE Training!


Colorado Professionals in Onsite Wastewater is hosting  a member appreciation day free to all 2018 CPOW members.


Arapahoe County -  September 14, 2018

The class will include classroom instruction from John Thomas, Executive Director of the Washington On-site Sewage Association (WOSSA) focusing on workplace safety. The morning session will be split into two groups. One group will start the day with an inspection of an onsite wastewater treatment system and the other group will start in the classroom. The groups will then switch so that everyone is able to walk through a National Association of Wastewater Technician (NAWT) inspection.

Morning session (done twice to a split group) - OWTS Inspection

Overview – 10 minutes

1926 Subpart P – Excavations – 15 minutes

1926.650 - Scope, application, and definitions applicable to this subpart. – 15 minutes

1926.651 - Specific Excavation Requirements. – 20 minutes

1926.652 - Requirements for protective systems. – 30 minutes

2 hours total

Afternoon session

1926 Subpart P App A - Soil Classification – 30 minutes

1926 Subpart P App B - Sloping and Benching – 30 minutes

1926 Subpart P App C - Timber Shoring for Trenches – 30 minutes

1926 Subpart P App D - Aluminum Hydraulic Shoring for Trenches -30 minutes

1926 Subpart P App E - Alternatives to Timber Shoring – 15 minutes

1926 Subpart P App F - Selection of Protective Systems – 15 minutes

Case Studies and exercises – 1.0 hour

Discussion and questions – 30 minutes

Total Presentation time: 6 hours

Please register online. You must purchase a 2018 CPOW membership to attend the free education day.

8 NAWT continuing education hours will be given for attending the full day. These continuing education hours can be used to recertify for any NAWT certificate.

The class will be capped at 75 people. 

CPOW / NOWRA for 2019 Educational Conference

CPOW is excited to announce that we will be partnering with The National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association for the 2019 Educational Conference. The conference will be held October 2019 instead of January 2019.
