CPOW Member Appreciation Day

Siphons, and test pits, and pipe bedding, oh my!

CPOW hosted the 3rd Annual Membership Appreciation Day at Shadows Ranch, in Georgetown, on July 28th. The education event was a great success, with over 75 members in attendance. Thanks to our sponsors, CPOW was able to host several great demonstrations and education opportunities. A siphon demonstration designed and presented by Ella Anguiano, with Church Onsite Wastewater Consultants, displayed a soil treatment area lateral system with siphons located at 10’ and 3’ above the laterals, with the purpose of demonstrating pressurized dosing and the impacts of elevation. Additional exhibits included a soil texturing demonstration and practice area, and a pipe installation and bedding demonstration to educate our members on best field practices. The second half of the day CPOW was honored to host the Washington Onsite Sewage Association, where our members received an exclusive OSHA Focus Four training, followed by a tour of the Georgetown Wastewater Treatment Plant Septage Receiving Facility. We hope to be able to offer another free, membership appreciation day next year to continue our mission of educating and informing our industry.
