WHY CPOW—WHY NOW?
Colorado’s onsite wastewater industry is in a period of transformation. As a regulatory program delegated to the counties, huge variation exists across the state in terms of design regulations, licensing of installers, credentials and training of inspectors and allowances for use of new technology, just to name a few. CPOW is building professionalism with the industry sectors.
CPOW was created to focus on issues affecting industry practitioners, system performance, management programs, training, education, community outreach, regulation development and legislative change, addressing long-term impacts that these systems may have on Colorado’s public health and environment and to enhance professionalism within the industry. With all that is happening in the onsite wastewater industry, CPOW is now the voice of the onsite professional in Colorado.
Since its conception in 2003, CPOW’s members have been diligent in making great strides to improve our state’s regulation of onsite systems. CPOW is dedicated to providing quality representation and leadership for the decentralized wastewater treatment industry so the quality and quantity of our water resources are improved and ensured for future generations.
